I have been listening to music more when I shoot as a way to get my mind in a place that is not over thinking things. I find that I do my best work when my mind is free to play and not thinking about the things that are going on out side of whatever shoot I am doing. Music helps me to really zone in and create the chemistry that I need with my subject and to my surprise really gets us both on the same page.
I went out yesterday to do a promo shoot for my good friend and hair stylist for her new website. Robin pretty much styles any shoot that I do where I need hair done. Here are a few from the day!

I can not say enough about how excited I am to get back film. I shot a ton of film when I was in Switzerland over Christmas and have been meaning to post this for a long time but just got busy.
I was so happy to see came of all these images from Switzerland. There is just something so magic about film and that way it looks. All of these were shot on my Holga with Fuji 800. I am pretty sure a few of these are going to be in my house.

As we continue to shoot this "The American Craft Brewer" project I am becoming more and more infatuated with the passion all these brewers have in creating craft beer. Listening to their stories and what they put into each different brew to make their beer unique is jaw dropping. There is something really unique happening in the craft beer world that you are going to want to be a part of, I really think this movement will be in the history books.
Yesterday, I was at Stone Brewing Co. to shoot some portraits and document the making of a collaboration brew between Stone, Victory and Dogfish Head. Once they tasted the test batch and all agreed upon the beer we got to see Greg, Bill and Sam "mash in" the first batch of this collaboration brew. I do not think I am at liberty to "sai" what it is yet but I will tell you that it will be amazing.
Here are a few shots from the day and one is of the "buff" boys adding in the specialty malts.

Jared says:
Rock! That is the most hardcore photo I have EVER seen of a craft brewer. Also, you couldn't possibly have captured Bill's personality better than that. Bad ass.

Craft beer is an art form in and of itself! It has been so exciting to glimpse into the world of craft beer and hear the amazing stories of each of the brewers. The time, thought, science and creativity that goes into every craft beer is inspiring and heart warming. I really believe that craft beer is more of an experience offered then just having a beer.
The word "Pub" is short for the word "Public House". The idea is a place to meet, have fellowship, discuss politics and life and doing all of this over a nice glass of hand-cfrafted beer. The head brewers of each "Pub" take great pride in giving there patrons an excellent glass of beer to enjoy while meeting and discussing daily issues or just catching with their friends. This project of shooting and learning the stories of each brewer has been tremendously rewarding.
This is a shot of Shaun O'Sullivan from 21st Amendment brewery in San Francisco. He flew down yesterday to tell his story and let me grab a few shots of him. Check out his site and try one of his beers.
