This last week I was in Vegas for WPPI, which is a trade-show that happens every year in Vegas for the wedding and portrait industry. There will be a lot of posts in the next few days about this. I am going backwards here as this was the last shoot and I am posting this first.
I am so excited to tell you all what happened, and I will try to keep it short. The hairstylist and Make-up artist is a good friend of mine (Robin Dunn) and she flew out to Vegas on Wednesday. We had a model drop out so I need one more. I sent an email to about 3 from model mayhem. This one I cam across was very intriguing to me. She was 4'11'' tiny and had a shaved head. More importantly her bio was right up my ally. She was about art and loved creativity. I sent her a message and didn't think twice. As Robin and I were at dinner we decided on a whim to get tickets to KA the cirque show at MGM. At dinner I got a text from one of the messages I sent out. It was from the tiny little shaved head girl. I called her back to give some details about the shoot and was kind of excited that anyone responded on such short notice. She said she was at work and had to get back but would talk after. I asked what she did and she told me she is in the show called KA. Yeah, I freaked out! She is in the show that we were just about to go see. She showed us a back room that we could go in to talk as she was in Character and could not come out. We met right before the show and immediately I knew that she would be in, we just connected. Well, after the show she said she was in, which was amazing as Hair and Make-up started at 3:00a and it was 12:00a now. Well, these are some of her from the day.
Her name is Erica and besides working in KA, she has a strong passion to raise money for her cancer charity, about which I will be posting more later. I am hoping this year to help her in raising money for her charity and doing more work with her. If you would like to help please contact me about the details.
Enjoy the shots and there are more to come from the other model!

I am so excited to show off my new prices in these amazing books that D*lsh designs put together for me. Last year I shot John & Phung's wedding and they had the most amazing invitations I had ever seen. So of course I asked "who did them". John let em know that his sister Lucia and her business partner Henny had this company named D*lsh designs that did them. So this year when I wanted to get something that was totally new and very "one of a kind" to show my brides my packages and a little about my studio I went to D*lsh designs. Lucia and Henny came to my studio and to get to know me and what my brand was all about so that they could have all the info they needed to make the best package media ever. I am so proud to show all of you these books. Each bride that meets with me gets a hand made, book cloth bound book that has all the info and pricing in it. On the last page each one is signed and numbered, as I only made 100, with my business card in this neat little awesome holder. I really wanted to show all of the brides how passionate I am about what I do and the quality of work that I am giving them. Check them out and let me know what you think.
Thank you Henny and Lucia!

On Monday I took a little field trip to the old abandoned water park off of I-15 with Molly and Marissa. Molly is the owner of Cheek Couture which is a fabulous on location hair and make-up company and does hair and make-up for some of the shoots you have seen earlier.
The whole day I shot with off camera flash which was a 580exII on a stand with a battery pack. It was set to 1/2 power mostly except for a few times I shot it at full power. I really wanted to be able to drop of the background and draw your attention to the subject with the light.
Thank you Marissa and Molly for such a fun and exciting day!
Marissa says:
Love the last three!! (plus size in the third?) lol...you did awesome.. can't wait to shoot again!

A-MAZ-ING!! Love these pics! So worth waking up early to prep for!!! Had so much fun in Vegas, and the shoot was more than I could have ever anticipated!! Where are we headed to next Jeff!?
(02.20.09 @ 09:35 PM)Its great to see these! You said honest comments, so here we go. :)
(02.21.09 @ 08:28 PM)1) Is cool. Its nice, I like it.
2) Is unflattering because I'm fixing my lipgloss, but it gives my face an unusual semi-alien quality that makes it interesting so I don't mind. I like how the white "pops" against the stark background. All together, good shot.
3) I like the muted colors and how the wardrobe goes with the colors in the background. I wish my head was pulled back or the scarf was off so my neckline didn't make the expression "gawky", but once again, I like the shot enough as a whole that it doesn't really fuss me.
4,5 and 6 later.... I'm in the middle of a show!
I'm so glad to have met you! Thanks for everything!
4) I really like. :) Great angle, background, colors...
(02.21.09 @ 10:32 PM)5) I adore. I'll put this in my portfolio as soon as I have it. The only problem with this is that you can see my "sticky bra" on the left. (best thing ever... every woman should have one) I would love a print of this.
6) Cool.
Loved the 3rd picture the most!!! Great job Jeffrey! Looking forward to seeing more!
(02.23.09 @ 12:17 AM)Excellent work man! I am so bummed that I didn't make it out to Red Rock with you guys. Looks like it was fun!
(02.25.09 @ 10:54 AM)Holy Moly! I love love these!! Her bald head gives a stark contrast to her other utterly feminine features. Beautiful!!
(03.02.09 @ 03:46 PM)wow ! I love #4 and 5! Beautiful work!! I love the story as well! Look forward to hearing about the details on the charity.
